I love to meet children and share with them how I work on my books. For a school visit, children preK-2nd grade: I read a book and then show some of the steps of how I made it, (research and observation, sketching, painting, revising and editing), followed by a related activity. I like small groups (one or two classes combined) for active participation altogether. We do projects related to the books we read: for example, we might draw flowers from observation (Zinnia's Flower Garden) or taste and compare a variety of apples (Apple Farmer Annie).
